How to use the worksheet
- Start with costs. The lines follow the same buckets the NFL FLAG organizer manual lists: field rental, insurance, officials, equipment, awards and marketing, plus coaches, software and staff.
- Get a real quote for every line and write where it came from. Planning ranges are a starting point only: direct costs run about $105 to $240 per player per season before paid staff Estimate.
- Budget marketing on purpose. NFL FLAG guidance for a new location is $1,000 to $10,000 Sourced.
- Decide how platform fees are handled. On Flag50 the 3.5% + $3 per registration is usually passed through to families at checkout, which makes the software line $0 to the league; if you absorb it, enter it per player.
- Divide total costs by expected players to find your break-even fee, then compare it with local fees before you set your price.
- Fill in a second copy at season end with actual numbers. A per-season P&L is one of the things that makes a league valuable.
Every line with a planning range and two worked seasons (240 and 400 players) is in the flag football league budget. Local fee data is in registration fees; field and officials quotes come from field permits and rental costs and flag football referees. Flag50's own fees are on Flag50 pricing.
