What the fee should include

Families compare leagues on the all-in number, so say plainly on the registration page what is and is not included.

Standard inclusions

  • A game jersey (reversible or sublimated) that the player keeps
  • A flag belt, and whether the player keeps it
  • Officials for every game
  • Field permits and lights
  • Insurance (general liability and accident)
  • A team football
  • 6 to 10 games plus playoffs
  • A season schedule published before registration closes

Common add-ons

  • Shorts, socks, headbands and mouthguards
  • Team and individual photos
  • A participation medal or trophy (often included for the youngest)
  • An end-of-season party or championship event
  • An upgraded or personalized jersey ($20 to $35)
  • Tournament entry
  • Spirit wear through a team store

Uniform costs and kit options are in jerseys, flag belts and merch. A common approach is to fold the uniform into the fee at roughly 1.5 to 2 times its cost Estimate.

How to set your registration fee

  1. List the fees and inclusions of every league families could choose instead of yours.
  2. Add up your per-player costs: uniform, officials, fields, insurance and platform fees (the league budget walks through them).
  3. Pick a fee inside the planning band for your market, and list every inclusion next to it.
  4. Set the early bird, sibling, late and coach credits before registration opens.
  5. Publish refund, weather and payment-plan terms on the registration page.

Then run registration itself: platforms, the timeline and team formation are in registration and team formation.

Frequently asked questions

What does a flag football registration fee usually include?

Usually a jersey the player keeps, a flag belt, officials for every game, field permits and lights, insurance, a team football and 6 to 10 games plus playoffs. Shorts, photos, trophies and tournament entry are common add-ons, so check what a league lists before you compare prices.

Do flag football leagues offer sibling discounts?

Many do. A typical sibling discount is $20 to $30 off each additional child. Early-bird pricing of $15 to $30 off in the first few weeks of registration is also common, as is a late fee of about $25 in the final two weeks.

Can I get a refund on flag football registration?

It depends on the league. One published policy refunds 100 percent four weeks before the first event, 50 percent before game two and nothing after. Leagues commonly refund less once equipment is ordered, and weather cancellations are never refundable.

Should a league pass card processing fees on to families?

Many leagues do. It is a choice: absorb the fee or pass it through. If you pass it through, show the fee on the registration page before checkout rather than adding it at the last step, so families see the all-in price up front.
