Flag50 Coaches · 7v7 Girls & College

Your 7v7 flag football playbook, schemes, and wristband.

The format for high school girls flag and NAIA and NCAA women's flag football. Seven players means a real run game: a back who takes handoffs, jet sweeps off the edge, and spread and empty looks to throw from. Answer a few questions for schemes built for your roster, browse a coach-ready 7v7 playbook, build a play from plain English, then print the whole call sheet onto a wristband. Same diagrams everywhere, because a play is data, not a picture.

Spread
Two shallow crossers rub over the middle while the slots sit down. Tell the crossers to almost high-five. Kills man coverage, and A is your safety valve out of the backfield.

Dive
Spread
The simplest run in 7v7. A takes the handoff straight up the middle behind the center, and every receiver stalk blocks the defender over them. Great on short yardage.

Four Verts
Spread
All four receivers run past everyone and A checks down underneath. QB finds the single-covered seam. If they run full speed, someone always comes open.

Flood
Trips Right
Three levels flood the right side: go, corner, flat. QB reads top down and takes what the defense gives. H runs a backside dig as the last resort.

Stick
Trips Right
Quick stick-and-out combo. Read the flat defender and throw the opposite. The ball is out in three steps, so it beats the blitz.

Jet Sweep
Trips Right
H comes in fast motion from the backside, takes the handoff, and races to the strong-side edge behind the trips receivers. Sell the fake pass first.

Two in-breakers at different depths give the QB an easy high-low read against zone. Throw the open window between the linebackers.

Smash
Trips Left
High-low on the corner defender: the hitch holds him low and the corner route beats him deep. The premier red-zone concept, with a backside post as the shot.

Spacing
Empty
Five quick options spaced across the field. Throw the open spot right now. With no back to protect, the ball has to come out fast, so this is your empty-formation blitz answer.

Dagger
Empty
The go route clears out the middle and the dig replaces it behind. A patient QB lets the vertical pull the safety, then throws the dig into the vacated window.

Triangle stretch from the bunch: corner up, spot sits, flat runs out. It overloads one defender three ways at once. Deadly in the red zone.

The stacked pair crosses vertically: corner and post switch releases. The pick at the top frees one deep every time versus man coverage.

Coach FAQ

Quick answers on the 7v7 playbook, the run game, wristbands, and the AI play builder.

Is the Flag50 7v7 flag football playbook free?

Yes. The playbook browser, the scheme finder, and the print-ready wristband export are completely free and work offline, with no account required. The AI Play Builder is also free to use at launch.

What is 7v7 flag football?

Seven-on-seven is the format used by most high school girls flag football and by NAIA and NCAA women's flag: a quarterback, a center who snaps then releases, four receivers, and a running back. The extra players over 5v5 open up a real run game plus empty and quads passing looks.

Does 7v7 flag football have a run game?

Yes, and it is the biggest difference from 5v5. With a running back on the field you can hand the ball off up the middle, run power out of a Gun I look, and jet-sweep the edge. The quarterback still cannot keep it past the line, so every run is a handoff or a sweep.

What are the best 7v7 flag football plays?

Build around an easy completion like spacing, a man beater like mesh, a red-zone smash concept, a downhill run like power, and a deep shot like four verticals. The ranked list of the best 7v7 plays walks through each one with a diagram.

How do I make a flag football wristband?

Pick a scheme or hand-pick your plays into a call sheet, choose Youth or Adult size, and print. Cut, fold, and slot the strip into a QB wristband. Flag50 prints the exact color-coded diagrams onto the strip, so each player can find their route by color.

Can AI create 7v7 flag football plays?

Yes. Describe the play you want in plain English and Flag50 writes it as a legal 7v7 play with all seven positions, including the running back, and draws it up with the same engine that powers the playbook and wristband.
