Flag Football Jerseys, Flag Belts and Merch for Your League

Uniforms cost a league about $18 to $50 per player. An approved NFL FLAG league buys the official kit, a reversible NFL club jersey, belt and shared ball, for $25 to $30 per player. An independent league pays $18 to $25 for stock reversible jerseys with velcro belts or $35 to $50 for custom sublimated jerseys with pop-release belts.

Option A: the NFL FLAG kit

The kit is available only to approved NFL FLAG leagues, and it is the only way to put NFL club marks on youth jerseys. How approval works is in how to start an NFL FLAG league.

Core kit, $25 per player
Reversible NFL club jersey (all 32 teams), official NFL FLAG belt, one football per five players Sourced
Gameday Performance kit, $30
Lightweight sublimated reversible jersey in all 32 designs, green or yellow belt, football credit, pre-paired pocketless shorts option Sourced
Add-ons
Team shorts about $16, headbands about $10.95, team flags about $10, plus socks, sleeves, gloves, mouthguards, pylons and coach shirts; custom lettering extra (prices by catalog)
Lead times
Allow 10 to 14 days for ground orders and order at least two weeks before you need delivery; two free ground shipments per season; expedited shipping at league expense Sourced
Terms
Non-refundable; one unopened jersey exchange per season for $25; ordering opens only after the insurance certificate is approved; independent operators pay by card, government and nonprofit operators may use a purchase order
Brand rules
No team logos on marketing; the league must have its own logo; sponsor logos on NFL jerseys need approval
Sizes
Youth S to L, adult S to 2XL

Order in two waves: a main order at registration close and a small second order for late sign-ups and size exchanges. Collect sizes at registration with a printed size chart, and expect roughly 5 to 8 percent of families to want a swap Estimate.

Option B: custom jerseys for an independent league

Jersey options and price ranges for an independent league
TypePrice per jerseyBest for
Stock reversible mesh$12 to $18 in bulk; about $15 retail EstimateFast launches, tight budgets, youngest divisions; numbers only
Custom sublimated reversible$25 to $40 at 100+ units; small-quantity listings run $30 to $70 with names, numbers and logos, often with a 5-piece minimum and a 2 to 3 week turnaround EstimateBrand-forward leagues, girls divisions, adult leagues, anything that will be photographed
Sublimated jersey plus shorts$35 to $55 per set EstimatePremium positioning

Planning ranges from published vendor listings in October 2026. Get quotes for your own quantities and dates.

Decide early whether jerseys are team-colored (a palette plan and reorders per team) or league-colored reversible (one item, the simplest logistics, two colors that cover home and away). Reversible league jerseys with a team name patch or sleeve print scale best past 300 players.

Your league logo goes on every jersey, so own it: assign the copyright from the designer in writing (league business setup covers it).

Flag belts: pop-release or velcro

Flag belt types for a league
BeltPriceTrade-off
Pop-release ("sonic")About $6 to $7 per belt in dozen packs; third-flag conversion kits about $45 per dozen EstimateFewer disputes, more durable, the tournament standard
Velcro$3 to $6 per belt in bulk EstimateCheaper, with more flag-guarding and "it was still attached" arguments
NFL FLAG kit beltIncluded in the kit SourcedOfficial belt for approved NFL FLAG leagues

The NFHS high school rules require three flags, so a 7v7 high school division needs three-flag belts or conversion kits.

Decide two flags or three, pop or velcro, belt color per team or universal, and whether players keep their belts. RISE gives belts to new players only; many leagues collect and reuse them. Write the choice into your league rules.

Spirit wear and team stores

A team store costs nothing to open and earns a small margin while putting your brand on hoodies around town. Common models Estimate:

  • Markup store: free setup and no fees to the league; you set a markup on each item (5 to 15 percent is a common range) and it is paid out after the orders ship. Ask about fixed-dollar markups and fundraising collections.
  • Personalized, no-inventory store: items are made one at a time as families order, so the league holds no stock. Ask the vendor how payouts work.

Expect roughly $2 to $5 per item; a league of 300 families might net $500 to $1,500 per season Estimate. Open the store six weeks before the season and again before playoffs, and put the link in every weekly email.

Sponsors on uniforms

Jersey space is sellable: back shoulder or lower back for team sponsors, front chest or sleeve for a title sponsor, numbers always unobstructed. One municipal league's published sheet sells team sponsorships at $200 (name on the back of jerseys, 30 slots) and a league sponsorship at $5,000 (name on the front, emails, press release, social) Sourced.

NFL FLAG leagues must follow the program's brand rules on anything printed on the NFL jersey. If approval is slow, put sponsor logos on shorts, headbands, banners and the team store instead.

Fold the uniform into the registration fee at roughly 1.5 to 2 times cost, and offer an upgraded or personalized jersey as a $20 to $35 add-on. NFL FLAG itself names upgraded jerseys and optional merchandise as a revenue source for operators. What families pay overall is in flag football registration fees.

Frequently asked questions

How much do flag football jerseys cost for a league?

Stock reversible mesh jerseys run about $12 to $18 each in bulk, and custom sublimated jerseys about $25 to $40 each at 100 or more units. Approved NFL FLAG leagues buy the official kit, jersey, belt and shared ball, for $25 to $30 per player.

Are pop-release or velcro flag belts better for a league?

Pop-release belts cost more, about $6 to $7 each, but cause fewer disputes, last longer and are the tournament standard. Velcro belts run $3 to $6 each and lead to more flag-guarding and "it was still attached" arguments.

Can a league sell sponsor logos on flag football jerseys?

Yes. Team sponsors usually take the back shoulder or lower back, and a title sponsor the front chest or sleeve, with numbers always clear. NFL FLAG leagues need approval for sponsor logos on NFL jerseys, so many put them on shorts, banners and the team store.

How many extra jerseys should a league order?

Plan a second, smaller order after the main order at registration close, for late sign-ups and size exchanges. Expect roughly 5 to 8 percent of families to want a different size, and collect sizes with a printed size chart at registration.
