Frequently asked questions

Q01How many colleges offer flag football scholarships?+

104 of the 393 women's college flag football programs in the Flag50 college finder have a confirmed athletic scholarship as of November 4, 2026. Most are NAIA (66) and NJCAA (36) programs. 31 of the 233 programs playing now are not confirmed either way yet.

Q02Do club flag football teams give scholarships?+

No. Club teams run through campus recreation and compete in the NIRSA series, so they do not award athletic aid. They are still a real way to keep playing, and many big schools have a club team before they add a varsity program.

Q03What does a scholarship status of unknown mean in the college finder?+

It means the finder does not have a confirmed scholarship status for that program yet. Most unknown programs are NCAA Division I and II teams, which may award aid. Ask the head coach directly, and check back as the list updates.

Q04Which eligibility center do flag football recruits register with?+

Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center if you are aiming for NCAA Division I or II, and with the NAIA Eligibility Center for NAIA schools. NCAA Division III, NJCAA and club programs have their own admission steps, so ask each coach what they need.
