The tools a first-year coach actually needs

Q01What tools does a first-year flag football coach actually need?+

A playbook with six to ten plays, a wristband strip for the quarterback, and a way to keep score and stats. Everything else is optional. The Flag50 playbook browser and wristband export cover the first two for free, and Coach Lite covers the third.

Q02Can I draw my own flag football plays for free?+

Yes. The Flag50 AI play builder turns a plain-English description into a legal 5v5, 6v6, or 7v7 play and draws it in the same engine that prints the wristband. It is free to use. The playbook browser also lets you build a call sheet from the seed plays without drawing anything.

Q03What size wristband do youth flag football players use?+

Wristband products come in youth and adult window sizes, and the Flag50 export prints a strip for either. Check the product you bought, choose the matching size in the export, print, cut along the edge, fold, and slot the strip in.

Q04Do I need Coach Lite if my league already runs on Flag50?+

No. If your league runs on Flag50, the referee feed scores the game and you attribute stats in the Coaches App inside the free Flag50 app. Coach Lite is for coaches and team managers whose league is not on Flag50 and who want to keep score and stats for their own team anyway.

Q05Does the Flag50 AI play builder work offline?+

No. The AI play builder needs a connection because the play is generated on the server. The playbook browser, the scheme finder, and the wristband export all work offline with no account, so you can build a call sheet at the field without a signal.
