From London to Mexico City to Super Bowl Week: Inside the Premier Flag Talent Pipeline

Premier Flag combine and talent pipeline: a London combine, a Mexico City talent ID event and a Super Bowl week showcase before the summer 2027 pro launch.

Carlsbad, Calif.: Premier Flag is finding its players through a London combine in October 2026, a Mexico City talent event in November and a Super Bowl week showcase in February 2027, ahead of its summer 2027 pro launch.

When the NFL and TMRW Sports announced Premier Flag on November 2, the headline was the league. The more interesting detail for anyone developing players is how the league plans to find them.

The pipeline so far

London, October 2026. TMRW Sports and the NFL held a combine at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with top performers advancing to a Premier Flag Combine next year.

Mexico City, November 2026. A second talent identification event is scheduled this month.

Los Angeles, Super Bowl week. A Premier Flag Showcase will run during Super Bowl week in February 2027.

Summer 2027. The league launches with men's and women's divisions in a US host city to be announced.

The league is working with IFAF, the international governing body, on rules, formats and equipment, and describes its approach as data-driven, which fits TMRW's background building the tech-heavy TGL golf league with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Who is already in

Three athletes were named as ambassadors at launch: USA Football women's national team stars Ashlea Klam and Izzy Geraci, and Darrell "Housh" Doucette III, the world champion quarterback on the men's side. Doucette's reaction captured what the league means to players who have funded their own careers for years: a chance to finally be paid for the sport.

The stated goal is a league lucrative enough that players can leave day jobs, with coaching, conditioning and health benefits. The salary structure is still being worked out.

What it signals for youth and high school players

Data will decide who gets looked at. A combine-driven, data-driven pro league means measurable performance matters from the start. Youth players who accumulate verified stats across seasons will have a record to point to. Players whose careers live in a shoebox of paper scorecards will not.

Women's pathway is now complete. Youth league to sanctioned high school (20+ states) to NAIA and NCAA (championship vote in January) to Premier Flag to the 2028 Olympics. Every rung exists.

International is part of the model. London and Mexico City before a US host city tells you Premier Flag is a global product from day one. Youth leagues near the border, and programs with international tournament experience, are on the map.

How local leagues should respond

  • Keep verified records. Referee-scored games and attributed player stats are what a data-driven league will eventually want to see. Flag50 keeps official referee data separate from coach-kept data for exactly this reason.
  • Build athlete profiles. A season-by-season stat history attached to a player is the youth equivalent of a combine sheet. Flag50 is building athlete profiles into the app so parents can keep that record from the first season.
  • Point at the ladder. Put the pathway on your league website. Parents respond to it.

The pro pipeline is being built in public. Youth leagues that treat every season as a step on it will produce the players who end up in it.

Frequently asked questions

How do players get noticed by Premier Flag?

Through combines and talent identification events. Top performers from the October combine at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London advance to a Premier Flag Combine next year, and a second talent ID event runs in Mexico City in November. A Premier Flag Showcase follows during Super Bowl week in February 2027.

Will Premier Flag players get paid?

That is the goal. The league says it wants to be lucrative enough that players can leave day jobs, with coaching, conditioning and health benefits. The salary structure is still being worked out, so no pay figures have been announced. For players who have funded their own careers for years, that is the headline.

What can a youth player do now to build a record a pro league could use?

Play in leagues that keep verified records. Referee-scored games and attributed player stats create a season-by-season history, the youth equivalent of a combine sheet. Flag50 keeps official referee data separate from coach-kept data and is building athlete profiles so parents can keep that record from the first season. The Flag50 league finder lists leagues by location.

Why did Premier Flag hold talent events in London and Mexico City first?

Holding talent events in London and Mexico City before naming a US host city signals that Premier Flag is a global product from day one. The league is also working with IFAF, the international governing body, on rules, formats and equipment. Youth leagues near the border and programs with international tournament experience are on the map.
