Before you run your first practice.
Background Check Required
Every FNL coach must clear a background check before taking a sideline. The league office sends the screening link directly to registered coaches each season, so watch your email after you sign up. Questions go to [email protected].
Rules
FNL is 6-on-6, non-contact, with no kickoffs and no running zones. The two rulebooks differ mainly in substitutions, so pull the one that matches your season.
Field Dimensions
- Field
- 50 x 29 yds
- Roughly 36 yards goal line to goal line.
- End Zone
- 7 to 8 yds
- No-Run Zones
- 5 yds
- Before the first down marker and before the end zone.
Lineup Cards
Each sheet prints four official line-up cards, so print one page and cut it into quarters. Hand your completed card to the opposing coach before kickoff or your team starts every possession on second down.
Blank gives you an empty quarter grid. Example comes with the legal rotation for that roster size already filled in, so you only add names and numbers.
Playbook
Eight diagrammed 6v6 plays you can install at practice.
Uniforms & Equipment
Fall and Spring uniforms include jerseys and shorts. Winter and Summer are jerseys only, and players provide their own plain black shorts with no pockets. Uniform questions go to Mike at [email protected].
Sizing & Exchanges
- Jersey sizes and numbers are allotted per team based on the players' age, grade, and division, because of the lead time needed to order.
- FNL cannot do jersey exchanges. For sizing, ProHems Tailoring (5617 Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad) can customize inexpensively and quickly.
- Players provide their own plain shorts with no pockets. Black for Winter and Summer.
Jersey Printing
FNL does not personalize jerseys. Teams may add a player name or their sponsor at their own discretion and cost. These local shops have been referred by FNL families.
Team Sponsorship
Sponsorship fees are built into registration as the uniform fee. Every team can still secure a business sponsor, and if yours does, FNL reimburses each player's uniform fee by check at jersey handout.
