Lead The Sideline
Coaches
Every NSD FNL team is led by a volunteer parent coach. You do not need a playbook or a résumé. You need one hour a week and a willingness to learn with the kids.
No Experience Needed
Most FNL coaches are parents who had never coached before. The rules are simple, the season is eight games, and the league helps you get going.
You Pick Your Practice
Head coaches set their own practice day, time, and location, about an hour a week, wherever works for your team.
Keep Your Group Together
Buddy groups of three or more need a parent head coach. Volunteering is the surest way to keep a group of friends on the same roster.

Park, all season
You set your own practice day, time, and location, roughly one hour a week. Games are Friday nights at Rancho Bernardo Community Park, with a paid referee and a field supervisor on every field, so your job on game night is coaching, not officiating or logistics.
What The League Provides
- Flags and game balls for every team
- A paid referee on every field, every game
- Field supervisors on site all night
- Lined, permitted fields at Rancho Bernardo Community Park
- Rosters, schedules, and live scoring handled by the league
- Standings that update themselves, no spreadsheets to maintain
The One Ask
Each team secures a $275 team sponsor. Coaches ask their team parents to reach out to one local business each, or the families split it, roughly $30–$35 apiece. That is what keeps registration at $325 and keeps every other fundraising ask off the table. More on sponsorship.
Ready To Coach?
Email the league with "FNL Head Coach" in the subject line and tell us your athlete's grade and division. You can also volunteer while registering your child online.
