Our Story
Two Decades Of Central Texas Flag Football
Neighborhood Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been putting Central Texas kids in the game for more than 20 years — the premier NFL FLAG football league in Cedar Park and Leander, where having fun while competing is always the #1 goal.
For over two decades, Neighborhood Sports has been a home for youth sports in Central Texas. What started as a way to give local kids a quality, organized place to play has grown into one of the region's most trusted names in NFL FLAG football — boys and girls, PreK through 9th grade, competing in real 5-on-5 non-contact flag under the identities of their favorite NFL teams.
Our players come from every background and economic level. Through our reduced-fee program, we work to make sure that cost is never the reason a child sits on the sidelines. Kids who play with us make life-long friends, stay active, learn the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and build a deeper connection to the community they call home.
As a nonprofit, every season is about more than wins and losses. We are dedicated to recreation, positive citizenship, and improving the lives of the youth we serve — teaching sportsmanship and teamwork first, and crowning champions second.

Parents Ask
Frequently Asked Questions
What ages and grades can play?
Boys and girls from PreK through 9th grade. Players are grouped into age and grade divisions so everyone competes with kids their own age. Dedicated all-girls divisions run from ages 7–8 through 13–14.
Is it really non-contact?
Yes. Neighborhood Sports plays official 5-on-5 NFL FLAG — a non-contact game where defenders pull a flag instead of tackling. It is a safe, fast, fun way to learn real football.
When are the seasons?
We run leagues throughout the year across Cedar Park and Leander. Spring leagues typically play on Saturdays; winter leagues play on Sundays. Specific dates and locations are posted each season at registration.
Do you offer financial assistance?
Yes. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we run a reduced-fee program so that cost is never the reason a child cannot play. Reach out to the league for details.
What if my child has never played before?
Perfect — most of our players start as beginners. Every skill level is welcome, and our coaches and trained refs make sure first-timers learn the game and have a blast doing it.
How do I register?
Registration is done online by season. Rosters fill quickly, so sign up early to lock in your player’s spot.
